Addition to Our Journey

If you've been following the A Marvelous Era  facebook and instagram posts for the past six months or so, you'll know that some serious progress has been made on the film.  Obviously, this process is taking much longer than we expected and we know that you're anxious for the film to be done already!  Believe me, we are too.  WIth that said, we want to make sure it is as powerful as we once dreamed of.

After producing many rough cuts of the film, it is apparent that the content is lacking some elements that still need to be captured. There are many great moments that have been documented in the past year that will undoubtedly make the cut, but in order to get the final cut that will sparkle, there is more work to be done.

In the next couple weeks, our crew will be capturing some new footage starting in Ventura, CA, not too far from our home base in Los Angeles.  The legendary radio host, Chuck Cecil of The Swingin' Years (on KKJZ 88.1 FM  west coast & WPPB FM on the east coast) will be our next topic of conversation.  He's someone we can add as a Big Band and Jazz "expert" to our already solid interviewees.

Following Mr. Cecil, we travel to Seal Beach where we meet with our most youthful band yet, the Heatwave Jazz and Show Band.  We are privileged to meet with a band whose repertoire ranges from Adelle to Earth Wind and Fire to older Big Band charts.  Their musicians also range from 12-22 years old which almost certainly tackles the range that we've been missing up to this point.  Stay tuned for more updates!
